World Thrombosis Day Friday, October 13

Dear George.,

We are excited to kick off the countdown to the 10th anniversary of World Thrombosis Day (WTD) next week, and we can’t wait to share this remarkable milestone with you. This achievement wouldn’t have been possible without the unwavering dedication and tireless efforts of our incredible global partners like yourself.

As we approach this exciting occasion, we invite you to join us in raising awareness as part of a season of circulatory health awareness, which includes World Heart Day, World Thrombosis Day, and World Stroke Day.

Here’s how you can get involved:

  1. Update Your Profile Picture: Show your support by changing your social media profile picture with our special badge. It’s easy! Simply visit this link. Don’t forget to use this year’s official hashtag: #WTDay23 and tag us.
  2. WTD 60 for 60 Fitness Challenge: Get active before October 13, snap a photo, and share it using the hashtag #WTD60for60. Involve your family and pets and share crucial information about thrombosis prevention.
  3. WTD Global Webinar: Join our webinar in partnership with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on October 10 at 11 a.m. US EDT / 5 p.m. CEST for valuable insights and discussions on mental health for thrombosis patients. Register here.
  4. #ClotChat Town Hall on X (formerly Twitter): Mark your calendars for October 13 at 12 p.m. US EDT / 6 p.m. CEST. Join the conversation online using the hashtag #ClotChat and share your thoughts, experiences, and successes in thrombosis awareness over the last decade.
  5. Share the Awareness Tribute Story: The ISTH WTD campaign is spotlighting Melanie Bloom, the wife of international world events correspondent for NBC, David Bloom, who tragically passed away 20 years ago from a blood clot while on a news assignment. The campaign will release a tribute video of their inspiring family story, which will be shared globally during WTD week. Additional stories are shared online here.
  1. Connect with Us: We invite you to join the countdown to WTD on social media through various channels, including Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), YouTube, and even TikTok!
  1. Share your photos: We want to see your photos from World Thrombosis Day and invite you to share them by uploading them to our website here.
