Ticagrelor (Brilinta, AstraZeneca) joins aspirin, ticlopidine, clopidogrel, and prasugrel as another oral antiplatelet drug for use in acute coronary syndrome, as reported June 1by theheart.org. Ticagrelor was previously cleared for therapy in the EU, but has not yet been cleared by the US FDA.
