Symposia Update

I’ve just updated our Conferences and Symposia page with some new meetings. Next week is the  AACC/ASCLS annual meeting and Clinical Laboratory Expo at the convention center in Atlanta, Georgia. The ASCLS program includes coag topics “Use of the Anti-Xa Assay to Dose UFH,” Wed, 2:15 by Karen Wrona; “Serious Transfusion Reactions,” Wed, 3:30, by Dr. Marisa Marques, “The Biology of Platelet Activation and the Development of Targeted Anti-platelet Agents,” Thu, 12:45, by Dr. Lynne Williams; “Update on Aspirin and Plavix Sensitivity and Resistance Testing,” Fri, 10:15, by David McGlasson; and “Managing Hemostasis in Trauma,” Fri, 2:30, by George Fritsma. Also, Dave McGlasson and George Fritsma present a poster, “Effects of Elevated Fibrinogen, Factor VIII, von Willebrand Antigen, and Immunologic von Willebrand Factor on the INNOVANCE® PFA P2Y Cartridge,” Wed, 10:30. The poster does not appear on the preliminary program, but the abstract appears in the summer issue of Clin Lab Sci.

Here are some additional coagulation meetings where Precision BioLogic Inc is sponsoring booths:

  • The Clinical and Laboratory Update in Thrombosis and Anticoagulation, sponsored by Mayo Medical Laboratories, will be held in just two weeks, August 4–5, 2011 in Heritage Hall, Kahler Grand Hotel, Rochester MN.
  • The 13th Annual Symposium on Bleeding and Thrombosis, sponsored by Midwest Hemostasis and by Esoterix Coagulation, will be held at the Westin Denver Downtown, September 8–9, 2011. This is the meeting that was previously held in Indianapolis.
  • The Greater New Orleans Coagulation Conference 2012, sponsored by Louisiana Coagulation Laboratory, will be held at the New Orleans Marriott, Metairie, LA, February 9–10, 2012.
  • And the First-Ever Thrombosis and Hemostasis Summit of North America (THSNA) led by four agencies and four collaborators, will be held at the Hyatt Regency, Chicago, May 3–5, 2012.
