Age-adjusted D-dimer Cutoff

I am curious to see if anyone is using the age-adjusted D-dimer cutoff for PE? I know this topic was discussed in 2014 and wanted to see if there has been a practice change since that time. We are using the STA Liatest D-Di and our ED physicians have asked that we start using the age-adjusted cutoffs for D-dimer. If anyone uses it, I’m assuming it would be considered off-label? Would referencing literature using the same assay be adequate for validation? Do you have a separate orderable for D-dimer for PE and one for all other indications?
