Our March 2026 Quick Question is a poll that asks, “How do you test for LAC when the patient is on a DOAC?” This question arises from the discussion in our 2-19-26 post, “CAP Today: Hemostasis Testing While on DOACs.” Often, the provider requests LAC testing for a thrombosis patient on anticoagulation. While the anticoagulant may be warfarin, LMWH, or UFH, the article’s experts indicate that DOACs are often used when LAC is suspected, so for our purposes, our QQ focuses on what do when a DOAC is present. Please make your selection on the right, and if your answer varies from the selections, please add a comment below. LAC testing is complex, and results are sometimes equivocal. This post is “pinned” and will stay on top throughout the month.
