From Dave McGlasson, George, Has anyone got information on storing DRVV screen and confirm reagent aliquots? Can you freeze/thaw them without any loss in activity? That question has come up to me recently.

Hi Dave,
We use Precision Biologic Check and Sure and despite the manufacturer’s claims that they can be frozen once after use, we have been disappointed with our results. We have given up trying to refreeze them and in fact have found that our LA Sure (high phospholipid DRVV) is not very stable at all. We run all our screens before even thawing and loading the LA Sure. It works well when we do that, but we have noticed that the values get higher the longer we have it out. Just one lab’s experience, but we run 3 runs a week (approx 40 patients per run).
