September 2025 QQ: Viscoelastometry

Our September 2025 QQ is a poll that asks, “What viscoelastometry device is employed at your facility?” Often, VET devices are employed in the OR or ER, both near-patient applications. For many years, we’ve used the time-honored Thromboelastograph (TEG) 5000 or its competitor, the Sonoclot, both of which are available worldwide. Newer offerings include the TEG 6s, ROTEM, or a relative newcomer, the Hemosonics Quantra. We’d like to know which instrument is used in your facility, or if you use another global coagulation assay. In the comments below, describe your lab’s contribution to VET instrument management and interpretation.
